Conditioning Guide


In order to lose body fat, your energy expenditure must be higher than your energy intake. Including the right kind of conditioning in a program provides a way to do just that.

The big question, however, is what kind of conditioning should you be doing to get the best results? Go to any gym and you’ll see a roomful of people plodding away on elliptical machines, recumbent bikes and treadmills, getting virtually no results. Well, this is not that kind of “cardio.”

Our conditioning programs are based around high-intensity interval training (HIIT), a form of conditioning interval training that alternates short bouts of intense effort with less-intense recovery periods. When a conditioning program like this is combined with a structured, well executed strength training program, they enhance each other, creating a synergistic fat burning/muscle building effect.
