Who We Work With

Are You A Good Fit The Athletic Strength Institute?

Strength training At ASI, our services aren’t for everyone. As much as we applaud your decision to work with a trainer, we are not the right fit for everyone.

Unlike many trainers and coaches who will take on anyone as a client, we select whom we work with very carefully. We want to make sure that it’s a match for everyone involved to ensure maximum success and results.

Criteria:

We have a reasonable set of criteria that needs to be met in order for us to take someone on as a client.

We only work with a limited number of clients and athletes at any given time to ensure maximum attention to detail and your ultimate success.

To this extent there are certain conditions that we demand of each client we work with:

1. Make the time to train with us at least twice per week. If you are serious about getting results you have to be willing to put in the time.

2. Accept that you must follow the 80/20 rule (or 90/10 rule for the seriously committed) – 80% (or 90%) of what you do regarding food intake and exercise must be exactly as we advise. The other 10-20% we leave to your conscience.

3. Give 100% effort every time you step in the gym. Our training programs are not easy, but if you work hard and keep a positive mindset you will reap the benefits.

This is what we expect of you. If they sound too challenging then perhaps we are not the right training facility for you.

Who We Work With:

Athletes – High School, Collegiate, Pro, and Recreational
Whether you are a high school athlete interested in playing at the collegiate level, making the transition from collegiate to pro, or a weekend warrior we can develop a plan that is right for you and your goals. In fact, our NFL Combine Training Program is a position specific, athlete specific program designed specifically to help you excel at the combine workouts.

First Responders – Fire, Police, and EMTs
For first responders physical fitness is not a luxury – it is a necessity. Our first responder programs are centered around improving “usable strength” – strength that is useable in the line of duty – while also implementing injury prevention strategies for the shoulder, lower back, and feet.

The Hardcore and Dedicated
You do not have to be an athlete or first-responder to train at ASI. You do, however, have to be willing to give 100% every rep of every set and follow our advice. If you have tried CrossFit in the past or are currently working out at box in the area, we have the level of intensity and environment you’ll thrive in without the higher risk of injury that comes with some CrossFit protocols.

We have services available in Lawrence as well as the Kansas City Metro Area.  Call us to schedule a consultation.
